GLAZE

A PRESENTATION OF GLAZE, SURFACE, AND TEXTURE

This exhibition offers visitors a glimpse into the fascinating world of ceramic glaze.

Achieving the beautiful finish of a glaze is no easy task – ceramicists face many challenges throughout the process.

Working with glazes requires deep knowledge and precision. The ceramicist must understand the minerals and raw materials that make up each glaze. At Hjorths Fabrik, there is a strong sense of pride in the fact that all glazes are developed and produced in-house.

The exhibition includes works by Hans Hjorth, who, in the early 1900s, began the factory’s proud tradition of stoneware glazes.

The exhibition is open throughout 2020.
