This year Hjorths Fabrik presents a big exhibition called Figurines.
The Figurines exhibition puts contemporary works of Irene Nordli (NO), Malene Hartmann Rasmussen (DK) and two local artists Gitte Helle (DK) and Kumiko Kimbara Asti (DK) into perspective with works from our collection. A collection in which Søholm, Michael Andersen, Bornholmske Pottemagere and Hjorths Fabrik are richly represented.
The exhibition will be a dialogue between the figurines' narratives and the design and decoration over time. Figurines - ceramic figures - are a visual storytelling, which can take the character of socially realistic representations, paraphrases or free from imagination.
At Hjorths Fabrik, we will resume one of our historical figurines on the occasion of the exhibition, which will be sold in the ceramic shop at Hjorths Fabrik.
All exhibitors are represented with between three to seven works depending on the sizes of the figurines. The exhibition Figurines puts the entire Hjorths Fabrik into play, as the exhibition spreads in both exhibition rooms, factory and shop.
Figurines can be experienced at Hjorths Fabrik March 11th - December 27th 2022.
