Open Air Museum, Melstedgård
MELSTEDGÅRD
- Open Air Museum, House of Food Culture & café Skafferiet
At Melstedgård, the Open Air Museum, the peasant men and women will show you the everyday life on a farm.
Watch them make homemade mustard with a cannon ball, see them embroider or feel free be curious and ask questions and they will tell you a lot of stories about life on an old farm.
Outside you can meet the farmer's animals in the stalls and fields - and they love a good scratch behind the ear.
Opposite the half-timbered farm, the newer House of Food Culture welcome you.
Come in - we are experimenting with fermentation, brewing and homemade ice cream.
In the middle of courtyard you find the café Skafferiet.
In here you can get something to drink and eat, or you can explore a selection of the best local specialities.
Enjoy a cold juice in the garden, have a bite or take home locals delicacies.
Some days there will be special events, e.g. trips by the Gudhjem's coastline to find and learn about herbs or an ice cream workshop - fun for the whole family.
Some days you can have a trip in our chariot and there will folk music and dance in the cortyard.
